Summary
Christopher Ives, Machine Closer (Now Northampton Labour Club). A six bay, two-storey boot and shoe workshop at the rear of a two storey house on Charles Street. The workshop is built of red brick. Ordnance Survey maps suggest that it was built c.1880. A faded ghost sign on the side of the house read: Read the/ Daily Herald/ Labours own Newspaper. The Labour Party were present in this location by 1927.
