Summary
Healtheries Shoe Works (Formerly Barnes & Hart, William Barnes, Padmore & Barnes). This shoe factory, built circa 1892, has three storeys and a front elevation of eight bays. A rear range is possibly a very early addition. The site also includes a single-storey lasting shop.

There are two signs at this location and they overlap.
The later sign is for Chancery Leatherwear. Their sign is mounted on what looks like metal. In addition to the text a faded arrow points to the factory shop and a hand points to the cash and carry department. A related company is still in Northampton but located in Bunting Road and renamed Crown Northampton Ltd.
The earlier sign underneath relates to a local confectionery business called Robinson’s who were in this location in the 1940s and possibly earlier.
