Building record 1160/424/1 - 14 & 16 St Michael's Road

Shoe factory built around 1880, originally Chapman Bros & Jeys. Later a Reptile skin dresser and leather warehouse. Now demolished

{1} c.1880 six-bay, three storey boot and shoe factory. Particularly austere former boot and shoe factory consisting of three storeys over a basement. It has a six-bay elevation of pier-and-panel construction on the south side of St Michael's Road. To the rear, projecting from the west end, is a very narrow original three-storey range, probably incorporating privies.
