Full Description

{1} Recorded in 1896 as: Bryant & Co, leather merchants; J.J.Fltch and Son, leather merchants; Dunster Street Mission Room (Whites).
Early 1890s leather warehouse comprising three separate, but originally identical, single-storey buildings. Standing on the south side of Dunster Street each has a narrow gabled fromtage containing a central entrance and flanking windows. They have the appearance of a speculative development (identical buildings are found at 56-64 Dunster Street. Each building originally had soft red brick window heads and hood moulds with a painted stone triangular pediment over the centrally placed doorway. No. 16 appears to have an original six-panelled door. No. 14 retains the original cast iron window frames with a central six-pane opening section. The Goad plan shows a roof light or lantern on each, but all the roofs have been renewed with corrugated asbestos. The frontage of No.18 has been demolished for about half its length, and an entrance inserted in the remaining window.
