Full Description

{1} T. Welsh reports the dredging up of iron rails, chains and other ironwork at the Blisworth end of the tunnel. Some people think it is from the original railway line, but there is also the suggestion that it is from a gantry that carried iron ore over the canal at this point to load onto barges, and that the ironwork is from the collapsed gantry.
