Full Description
{1} In a small piece of enclosed woodland in an area otherwise disturbed by restored quarrying/still open quarrying immediately south, remains including buried walls much disturbed by badger setts and very overgrown. The key piece of evidence in the report is a wall face 90cm high, 50 cm below the top of the bank in which it occurs, exposed in the side of a deep badger excavation. It seems a deep buried wall, possibly as much as two metres thick obstructs burrowing here. There are other wall fragments and mounds. This is close to RCHM Inventory Boughton 5, a well, Roman pottery and 'leather' found in 1936 at SP745657.
