Summary

Jeffrey-West (Formerly W. Curtis, F. Morris, Savage & Sons, N. Smith). A boot and shoe factory on the corner of Stockley Street and Alfred Street with a later extension extending along Stockley Street. Both phases of the building are constructed of brick and have slate roofs. Both phases are shown on the 1884 Ordnance Survey map but a probable date of construction for the earlier range is circa 1875.

Full Description

{1} The three factories on Stockley Street all have cast iron windows.

{2} A two-phase boot and shoe factory on the corner Stockley Street and Alfred Street. The original block occupies the corner and the second bay is a seven-bay extension along Stockley Street. The original block is of three storeys. Facing Alfred Street there are four bays of segmental-headed windows with stuccoed voussoirs and a second floor loading doorway retaining a crane.
