Summary

Former farm buildings associated with Abington Lodge, now converted to domestic use. Constructed of course ironstone rubble with brick dressings and concrete tile roofs. The form of the buildings suggests a former threshing barn and possible cart shed with granary over.

Full Description

{1} Stone built series of farm buildings constructed late(?) C19th, now surrounded by C20th housing developments of post war era. Somewhat incongruous. Buildings affected by fire-setting and neglect. It is understood that the site is to redeveloped in the near future.

{4} The eastern end of the former north range of barns has been converted into domestic use. A probable former threshing barn with some inserted windows and doors and adjoining open-fronted cart shed. The second storey may have been a granary as was common with buildings of this type.
