Full Description

{1} Finds from trench dug by the BBC for a film set: traces of rubble, possibly including some stone blocks in situ, some of which were dressed; a base stone from an arrow-slit; massive limestone fragments including sections of fallen walling up to 2m long, and including clay pipe stems and some post medieval pot sherds; a dogtooth decorated stone fragment and sherd of bellarmine; medieval pot sherds and possible accompanying features were observed at the south-west end of the trench. Locations of all finds are shown on the sketch map.
