Archaeological investigations at the Church of St John have found unstratified Roman pottery indicating probable settlement in the vicinity

Full Description

{1} Romano-British pot sherds recovered including Samian and colour coated ware;

{4} Observation undertaken during the excavation of a service trench identified several unstratified sherds of relatively unabraded Roman pottery from layers around the churchyard entrance. The sherds probably indicate Roman settlement nearby;
