Summary
Abington Boot Company? (Formerly G. Gilbert). This is a small, seven bay, boot and shoe factory of three storeys including a basement, built on the south side of South Street in the 1880s. It is narrow, being only two bays wide. It is constructed of brick and has a slate roof.

Full Description
{1} Small seven by two bay factory building of two floors and a basement. The original entrance occupied the western two bays with a loading doorway above.
1884 factory first shown on OS mapping. In 1890 and 1896 listed as G. Gilbert, shoe manufacturer. In 1912 listed as the Bazeley and Eaton Warehouse, but by 1929 listed again as a shoe manufacturers, this time possibly The Abington Boot Co. Now used as the Hazelwood Design Studio.
