Full Description

{1} No archaeological features were revealed at any time during the watching brief. Topsoil and subsoil contained frequent root disturbance, gravel inclusions, modern charcoal and post medieval pottery and glass, a sample of which was retained.
The absence of archaeology could reflect the substantial tree root disturbance, however it is more likely that this area lies outside the boundaries of the Romano-British settlement and Anglo-Saxon cemetery to the west.
