Summary
Known as Cock Lane in the 18th century, Wood Street connected Lady's Lane to Abington Street to the south. The route was lost during the development of the Grosvenor Centre in the late 20th century.

Full Description
{2} Known in the 13th century as Whitefriars Lane and in the century after it is occasionally known as St Michael's Street. Sometimes known as Wood Street in Elizabethan times and as Cock Lane in the 18th century (due to the location of the Cock Inn at the Abington Street end of this street).
{3} In the late 15th century it was known as 'Whitefrere Lane'. By the early 18th century it was known as 'Cock Lane' and identifiable of Noble and Butlin's map as Wood Street.
