Fieldwalking survey identified Neolithic to Bronze Age flint

{1} Sites 2-4. Analysis of the flint assemblages reveals a mixed period of occupation ranging from the early Neolithic to the early Bronze Age. A total of 199 flints were recovered, details of which are presented in Table 2.

{2} The fieldwalking survey revealed a low level of Bronze Age lithics across the survey area.

{3} Fieldwalking survey in 1980 (Site 4) identified a Neolithic - Bronze Age flint scatter (177 pieces in total) comprising 2 hammerstones, 9 scrapers (including 2 thumb), 12 blade cores, 18 rough cores, 34 utilised flakes/blades, 2 reworked flint, 86 waste flakes, 4 burnt flint and 1 Saxon sherd containing grit and mica inclusions
