Full Description

{1} The edge of a large cut feature was exposed extending beyond the east (west?) and north edge of Area 2A. Its upper fill produced C12th-C13th pottery, probable medieval tile and some animal bone, suggesting contemporaniety with other quarrying on the site. However the presence of clay pipe stem fragments indicates that it was at least heavily disturbed by post-medieval activity.

Later features included three insubstantial footings, two of brick and one of ironstone, along with a related sub-rectangular pit, the latter containing C19th pottery in its fill. The stone footing was cut by an irregular pit which contained large quantities of C19th-C20th pottery.
