Full Description

{1}{6}{7} The boundary bank can be traced as a broad yellow clay band in the ploughsoil at SP959816.

{5} The boundary formerly ran past New Lodge on the line of the modern road (to SP96008156), according to the C18th maps, but no trace now exists on the ground. However aerial photographs (held at the Monk's Wood Research Station, Huntingdon) show features as a cropmark running along the north-west side of the road.
At the sharp bend in the modern road the boundary turned north-west to the north end of Round Lown Wood, and although no remains are now visible, the bank and inner ditch are shown clearly on air photos taken just after WWII.

{8} Earthwork traces also survive of deer park pale running parallel to the road to the ESE (cSP9590 8141 to SP9598 8156).
