Full Description
{1} Trench M was also cut to assess the extent of Saxon occupation. A ditch was revealed c.1.2m wide x 0.3m deep minimum. It was not fully excavated, as it rapidly flooded. At the north-east of the trench was a stone surface, probably metalling of the former lane to the manor house.
