Full Description

{1} A 3-storey building with an L-plan consisting of a street range and a rear range. Cambridge St elevation and east-facing elevation are fenestrated, with segmental window heads, blue brick sills and mostly cast-iron frames. The first floor may have been used as an office. The rear range appears to be contemporary. Various smaller buildings formerly extended to the rear. The relatively poor lighting of this building does not suggest a conventional shoe factory, but may be consistent with the range of activities undertaken by Thomas Lilley, leather dresser and merchant, and boot upper manufacturer, who is listed in Cambridge St in 1896.
