The Goat Inn occupied a plot on Gold Street from the at least the early post-medieval period until the 19th century

{7} Bull & Goat in 1725, in 1739 it was known as The Goat and in 1744 The Old Goat. In 1804 it was for sale with a brew house. By 1894 carriage builders occupied the property.
