Monument record 2707/2/8 - Medieval Yard & Surrounding Farm Buildings

{1} Area 1 (the area behind The Lodgings) produced an early C18th metalled yard (pre-enclosure) and a number of small medieval farm buildings (pigsties).

{2} The excavations, which concentrated on the northern third of the open yard area, revealed evidence for a number of modern agricultural barns and a pigsty, and also clearly indicated that the yard had served to contain livestock and store agricultural machinery. A small remnant of medieval masonry was also recovered.
