Summary

The Second World War dispersed Site 8 for RAF Chelveston (Monument Number 1317824) was visible on historical aerial photographs. They were originally the accommodation quarters for the airmen working at the airfield prior to the USAAF taking over in 1942. No buildings remain extant, though some of the footings of the buildings may still be visible on the ground.

{1}{2} In field 3 the magnetic anomalies are due to the presence of demolished air raid shelters.

{3-5} The Second World War dispersed Site 8 for RAF Chelveston was visible on historical aerial photographs and was mapped as part of the Bedford Borough NMP project. Site 8 is centred at SP 99260 66696 and were originally the accommodation quarters for the airmen working at the airfield prior to the USAAF taking over in 1942. No buildings remain extant, though some of the footings of the buildings may still be visible on the ground.
