{1} Although there were no features dating to the Neolithic/early Bronze Age within the excavation area, evidence for activity in the vicinity during this period is attested by the presence of flint tools and waste flakes across the site. These were recovered from the topsoil, the subsoil and as residual finds in Iron Age and Roman deposits. One of the finds, a knife 70mm long and 34mm wide, is of good quality and is a relative rarity.
