Full Description

{2} No features were present until at a point 50m from the Slaughter House, where a thin lens of charcoal, 20mm thick and up to 1.2m long, was exposed. It contained post-medieval brick and tile, together with animal bones, and further finds were present in adjacent spoil.
A layer of burnt, decomposed brick and charcoal was exposed 70m from the Slaughter House. It was seen in the sides of the trench at a depth of 0.15m where it was 200mm thick and covered a distance of 2.1m.
