Full Description

{1} On excavation layer 9 proved to be the upper fill of a vertical-sided cut which can only be interpreted as a grave; it was not fully excavated. The artefacts recovered from layers 1 and 2 and the fill of the grave show that it is unlikely to predate the 19th century.

Lying beneath layer 23 were the remains of what may best be interpreted as three graves. None of these were fully exposed within the test pit or fully excavated. The few artefacts recovered from the test pit indicate that the three graves are all relatively modern and probably no earlier than the 19th century (or just possibly the graves could be later 18th century).
