Full Description

{1} Two shallow and clearly truncated gullies were identified cut into the natural clay; neither yielded any datable finds. Although no dating evidence was found these are not dissimilar to the timber slots and gullies found during the excavation of the Saxon settlement discovered beneath the adjacent ringwork castle.
