Full Description

{1} Wall 15 was built of undressed but well coursed limestone and was bonded with pale yellow clay, it was 64cmm wide and survived for a length of 1.04m. A small sondage was excavated on the southern side of the wall; there was a considerable difference in levels on either side of the wall.
Wall 18 was constructed of similar materials and also had a difference in levels. It may be that the two walls are actually two sides of the same building although if this is the case, the walls are at an unusual angle to each other. There is also no evidence that the walls were ever joined; indeed it appears that wall 18 terminated and did not continue north to meet wall 15.
2 sherds of 17th century pottery were found, suggesting that the walls are of early post medieval, or even medieval date.
