Full Description

{1} Site of a possible former Victorian bakery. The present owner claims that the deeds of the building in the 1880s indicate that the passage through to Byron Street (which is situated to the rear of the building) was to remain open to allow access to the bakehouse. He also claims that his father remembers a bakehouse in this location in the 1930s and 1940s. The site originally consisted of a double frontage wich carriage arch to the rear and two two-storet red brick buildings to the back of the plot. One fo these structures could be accessed through the house, but also had its own staircase; the other was physically detached. The site has been considerable altered in recent years and there is no surviving evidence to indicate the former use of the building.
