Full Description

{1} A Roman barn or shepherds hut at Tustian's Farm [Chacombe Lodge Farm]. Approx. 20/30 yards. This would have been a prime Roman site for a dwelling, but no pottery, tiles etc were found. However, in a field over the brook on land belonging to Mr Heseltine [Thenford House] a few sherds of C.100AD pottery were found, mainly mica and a heavy piece of glass from a bowl 12 inches by 14 inches imitation Samian ware, moulded not blown.
