Full Description

{1} Four sherds of medieval pottery were found in the lowest level of Trench 2, together with a small piece of slag. Two sherds (one probably a base sherd) of a coarse sandy fabric are generally attributed to the C10th to early C13th. One body sherd, probably from a cooking pot, of a tempered fabric and dated from the middle of the C13th to the C16th. One cooking pot rim of probable Potterspury/Yardley Gobion ware, probably dating to the later C13th or C14th.

A pit or gully was found on the south east side of Trench 1. It contained a fragment of wood, possibly part of a stake or post, and a fragment of brick.
