Summary

A cremation cemetery was located through excavation and contained six unurned burials, including the one identified during the previous trial trench evaluation.

Full Description

{1} Towards the west of the trench a small pit protruded from the southern trench edge. Its fill contained cremated human bone which remains undated.

{2} Trial excavation on land surrounding the important Bronze Age ringwork revealed widely dispersed archaeological features including a human cremation.

{3} Cremation cemetery was located immediately north of enclosure. The cemetery contained six unurned burials, including the one identified during the trial trench evaluation (Northamptonshire Archaeology 2007, 15). The graves were under 0.4m deep and no grave goods were present.
