{1} History:
1086 Although the Domesday survey records one mill at Brantone, rendering 28s. It is possible that it was at the other mill site in Chapel Brampton.
1219 Hugh Wells granted Marcers Mill to the Hospital of St. David, Kingsthorpe
1633 Inventory of Bridge Mill, Chapel Brampton taken when its lease by Thomas Lane expired and John Wright became the tenant.
1758 Map of the listed estate refers to this mill.
1792 Mill known as Langburgh Mill (although Bridges in 1766 wrote that of Brampton's two watermills, the one formerly near the Long bridge had disappeared)
Shown by a symbol on Eyre's and Jeffries' map, and as Langburgh Mill on the 1792 plan of proposed Union Canal to join Leicester navigation as surveyed by John Varley.
