Monument record 1641/0/31 - Possible Field Boundaries, Undated

{1} A series of weakly magnetic linear anomalies probably denoting field ditches. They appear to form the boundaries of large land parcels which lack internal features.

{2} In the south-eastern part of the quarry, a number of lengths of Romano-Roman ditch were present. They defined the continuation of land parcels identified by the geophysical survey to the west of the walled area.

{3} North-West of Roman town, a series of Roman boudary ditches represents the continuation onto the floodplain of the River Nene of fields previously identified by geophysical survey. In places a buried ploughsoil was identified below alluvium but it could not be positively demonstated to be Roman.
