Full Description
{1} The shelter is constructed of mortared brick with a single centrally located entrance opening to the east. Unroofed. Partially earth embanked to provide blast protection. Partially overgrown and occupied by self set tree saplings. In reasonable condition.
{2} The shelter is constructed of mortared brick, the external walls being 12in thick and laid in English Bond. There is a single centrally located, 0.8m wide entrance opening to the east and protected by blast walls. Internally the shelter measures just over 8.5m long by 1.52m wide and c.1.5m high. It is unroofed; the floor is buried under c.100mm of earth but appears to comprise a concrete slab foundation. An earth embankment, up to 0.9m deep, surrounds the structure apart from at the entrance. This latter was presumably once intended to rise to close to the top of the walls but has clearly suffered erosion. No internal fixtures or fittings were observed. Plan.
