Full Description
{1} These features form part of the WW2 RAF Ground Equipment Depot, called RAF 72 Maintenance Unit, Roade, established in 1942.
{2} From 1st March 1942, Salcey Forest became home to the RAF No 72 Maintenance Unit Squadron as an Equipment Dipersal Depot. Initially a storage facility for aircraft engine spares, it quickly expanded to become a major depot for all manner of ground equipment needed by the region's airbases.
