Full Description

{1} Northampton's purpose-built Civil Defence headquarters, complete with bunker. It is built of brick; two storeys with reportedly a full length basement or 'bunker'. Later alterations include the bricking-up of vehicle access in the front and removal of balcony and aerials at the rear. The original HQ sign is still in plave in its box above the entrance, but has been turned back to front. An internal inspection was not possible so the nature and extent of any original fixtures and fittings is not known.
