{1} Area of extensive quarrying - probably for limestone, located within area of beech wood. Cuts earlier coppice boundary banks. Presumably of c.19th/ early 20th century date?

Labelled as 'Old Gravel Pit' on 1st edition OS mapping (1:2500)
