{1} Site of the crash of a Halifax III plane, on 23rd January 1945.
A carrier bag full of wreckage was recovered from an elongated area. Most consisted of aircraft skin and pipes, and a quantity of Bakelite and Perspex. A second area of wreckage was found at SP93838 76510 where fins from engine cylinders were found, along with part of a .303 Browning, a few cartridges dated 1944 and part of a fire extinguisher.
