An archaeological test pit excavated on the north side of the church identified a probable Iron Age or Roman field boundary.

Full Description
{1}A ditch or gully with a shallow v-section profile, containing 17 sherds of late Iron Age and Roman pottery but no post-Roman artefacts. It therefore seems likely that the feature represents an Iron Age/ Roman boundary or field ditch.
