Summary

The buried remains of a tramway linking ironstone quarries at Burton Latimer to the Kettering Thrapston Huntingdon Branch railway (now partly the route of the A14). They are all marked on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 12(about 1:2500 scale) map of 1900 but not on the 1st edition of 1886.

{2} A broad linear cropmark, recorded on EH Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken in July 2011, indicates the buried remains of a tramway linking Ironstone quarries at Burton Latimer to the Kettering Thrapston Huntingdon Branch railway (now partly the route of the A14). They are all marked on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 12 (about 1:2500 scale) map of 1900 but not on the 1st edition of 1886. The cropmark is centred at SP 9118 7618 in the field to the east of the Cranford road and south of the A14.
