Full Description
{1} 6 sherds ofearly medieval (C12/13) pottery were recovered from badger sett spoil.
{2} The small assemblage of unstratified ceramic artefacts retreived from the badger sett at Alderton Mount dates from the Saxon to early medieval period. In total there are eleven sherds of pottery and four sherds of roof tile. There is one sherd of quartz tempered ?Saxon pottery and two sherds of ?St. Neots Type ware. The remaining sherds appear to be early medieval coursewares in sand and shell tempered fabrics. In addition, there are three fragments of unglazed and one fragment of glazed roof tile manufactured in Potterspury.
