Building record 3656/0/5 - Crispin Cottages

A row of four terraced houses with a datestone of 1895. Each of the houses has a single-storey workshpo to the rear. Associated with the shoe factory on Walkers Acre.

{2} A row of four terraced houses with a datestone reading "S.W. 1895". The houses have two-storey bay windows with limestone window and door dressings, dogtooth decoration at ground-floor lintel height, a buff brick string course at first floor height and a buff brick cogged course above this. Each house has a rear range of three stages. The first stage is a standard domestic two-storey rear range, to the rear of this is a single storey unheated (?) workshop with entrance and window, both of which have been replaced. To the rear of this is a further, smaller block with doorway and small window, probably a privy.
There is clearly an association between these cottages and the house and factory on Walkers Acre which have a similar datestone reading "S.W. AD 1899".
