A hole was illegally dug within the Scheduled Monument by metal detectorists. A possible surface was identified at the base.

Full Description

{1} An illicit 'trench' was discovered and briefly recorded before it was backfilled. Large limestone fragments occupy the base of the trench with possible plough soil above. Upcast from the trench contained small fragments of limestone with occasional small ironstone pieces. Small pieces of Roman pottery were present along with small fragments of bone and at least one piece of slag.
