Full Description

{1} An inner ditch was revealed 20m west of the slight hollow defining the line of the main ditch at this point. Another defensive ditch was later exposed between the two. The ditches were not excavated but the innermost was 4.4m wide at the surface and the central ditch 7m wide. There was a spacing of approx 6m between each of the ditches. No post holes were located between them.
The surface appearance of the central ditch suggests it was filled when the surviving phase of the ditches was dug.
