Full Description

{1} The Red Lyon Inn, probably damaged or destroyed in the Fire of Northampton and rebuilt shortly afterwards (the stlye of architecture of the remaining portion supports this). The building was largely demolished in the 1930s to make way for the Fishmarket. An early 20th century photograph shows that the Inn had closed before this date as the building is being used as a car showroom. Shown on the 1747 Noble and Butlin map as a courtyard inn and limited documentation shows that it had stables fronting onto Silver Street.
