Full Description

{1} An ironstone wall was revealed, aligned in a north west - south east direction and comprised of unmortared stone fragments, all undressed, laid in two neat courses. It lay directly benearth topsoil. No construction trench was visible which suggests that it was trench built. A continuation of the wall was seen between trenches 1 and 2 but as it didn't reach tench 1 it may have turned southwards or been dismantled.
The wall's shallow foundations and probable relationship to an earthwork feature suggests that it may have formed a simple drystone boundary wall.
