Full Description

{1} Three separate areas of probable quarry pits were observed in Trench 4. One of these areas contained a small quantity of post medieval/modern pottery and animal bone.
Trenches 5, 6, 8, 10 - 15 also contained features which probably relate to this activity.

{2} The detailed gradiometry survey identified a number of anomalies of possible archaeological origin. The data has been affected by the presence of made ground and magnetic debris, particularly in the northern region of the site. However, despite the presence of magnetic disturbance, positive linear and area anomalies can be noted throughout the survey area but with a particular concentration in the central region of the site. These represent cut features of possible archaeological origin such as pits and ditches.
