Full Description

{1} Traces of medieval furrows were identified during excavation of trial trenches. They were visible in four trial trenches and were aligned approximately north west to south east. They were generally under 1.8m wide and 0.2m deep with irregular profiles. The depth of subsoil was significantly greater at the southern end of trench 4; this is likely to be related to the build-up of a medieval headland adjacent to Higham Road.
