Summary
HER note 01/04/2014: this house may be the unlocated Cross Tree farmhouse (HER ref. 535/0/2) - the profile of the cruck truss is identical and the dates of the surveys of each building would coincide.

Full Description
{1} Photo showing building during demolition in 1978. Some of the original timbers were apparently incorporated into the house when it was rebuilt. The house was of similar construction to that next door (Nos. 19 and 21) which proved to have a late medieval core.
{3} During partial demolition in 1978 a 14th century cruck truss was uncovered. Interpreted as the remains of a Hall House, probably of two bays. Very little of the original stonework of the house now remains. Adjoining the Hall House was added further accommodation, probably in the late 16th century, and successive reconstructions and additions have taken place since then. Plans.
