Summary
The Kettering London Road Cemetery opened in 1861 and spanned an area of 5 acres. There is a boundary wall with cast iron railings. There is a lodge built in the Gothic style and two chapels (Anglican and Non-Conformist) linked by vestries. The Anglican chapel is Listed Grade C and the Non-Conformist Chapel is Listed Grade II. The architect was R W Johnson. The cemetery area was extended to 12 acres in 1894. There is an avenue of limes.

Full Description
{1} Cemetery. Cemetery was consecrated on 15th May 1867 and was enlarged in 1871 and 1894 - comprised 17 and a half acres with an elegant building surmounted by a spire and comprising mortuary chapels for the Church of England and Non-conformists. The cemetery was laid out when the church and chapel graveyards were closed for public health reasons The cemetery is still in use today complete with its lodge and the two chapels, the latter of which are listed buildings.
