Summary
The friary was in Derngate, probably adjacent to the Dern Gate. In the Hundred Rolls (Ror Hund 2, 3a), it was recorded that the friars `had stopped up the common way... from the gate called Derngate to Dandelines Court'. The house was founded before 1271, in which year Henry III gave them a grant for building their church. It was abandoned by 1303.
